It plays games on an iPad. It posts selfies on Instagram. It surfs the web. It even gets moody. And it’s not a human we’re talking about. Meet Deltu, a delta robot created by interactive designer Alexia Léchot.

According to Léchot, Deltu has a personality. The robot interacts with people via two iPads — one for it, the other for the human. Players must precisely mimic Deltu’s movements, otherwise it gets upset. And in some cases, it might try to change its mind.

Depending on how its feeling, Deltu will close out of the game, open the camera app, snap pictures of itself, and then upload them to Instagram. It may also choose to explore the Internet or browse songs on SoundCloud.

Deltu is equipped with three moving arms and controlled by Arduino. The system uses Unity3d applications and a Python server. You can see it in action below!
