A Remote-Activated Nerf Grenade

Sure, Nerf guns are fun to use to shoot your friends, coworkers, or even enemies, but in the end, they’re only accurate to a few feet. In order to improve his Nerf prowess, YouTuber Giaco Whatever decided to create a remotely-triggered Nerf mine.

His device — shown being manufactured in the first part of the video below — uses compressed gas from a CO2 cylinder to propel up to 12 darts in all directions. Gas is released via a solenoid valve and relay, which is triggered using a simple infrared remote control. It’s used to great effect in the “movie” portion of the video seen after 4:00.

Of note is that he uses a bicycle tire inflation valve to control the high pressure of the CO2 cylinder. Be sure to use the proper safety precautions when working with this type of stored energy!
