ApplePi Is an Audiophile Quality DAC Built for the Raspberry Pi

For audiophiles, getting perfect digital sound quality relies on a number of factors: the audio file itself, the software, the DAC (digital-to-audio converter), the pre-amplifier and amplifier, and the speakers. The ApplePi DAC is designed to fill that gap by bypassing the Raspberry Pi’s on-board sound card, and replacing it with a top-of-the-line DAC. It’s designed to work well with Linux distros like Volumio, so all you have to do is plug it into your amplifier and speakers and you’re ready to go.

The Kickstarter campaign for the ApplePi DAC lasts until May 13th, and it has already reached the funding goal. Backers can expect to get their rewards in July, and there are packages available for complete systems if you want everything you need for a fantastic setup.
