BreadShield > Spaghetti Wiring for Arduino Projects

Arduino boards, especially those of the Uno form factor, are amazing devices for introducing people to the wide world of physical computing. All you need to do is run wires from its female headers to a breadboard, or plug in the appropriate shield, and you’re ready to experiment!

As great as this is, there are a few problems with the arrangement. First, jumper wires routed to a breadboard soon get messy, and if you want to add a shield in addition to your spaghetti arrangement of wires, this is often not possible. Finally, what if you want to unplug your jumpers temporarily, and easily place them all in the same position again? Possible, certainly, but not without a bit of tedium.

The BreadShield — coming soon to Crowd Supply — solves all these problems in an ingenious format that makes you wonder why you didn’t come up with it yourself. This shield breaks out Arduino pins to the side of the board and facing down, ready to be plugged in to your breadboard. On top, female headers allow assess to all the connections that shields normally plug into, enabling you to develop prototypes and educational projects with ease.
