With various video monitors available off the shelf, keeping things secure, or at least knowing who bothered your stuff, is easier than ever. Then again, if you want more control over how your system works, a Raspberry Pi Zero W-based setup like Geraldo Ramos’ Pigeon could be a great solution.

Pigeon is a simple cloud home surveillance camera that features an excellent-looking 3D-printed case/wall mount (which could perhaps work well for other Pi projects), making it easy to place everything in a good location.

The device is capable of live streaming in the desktop/mobile browser with remote access, and can store clips on Dropbox whenever it detects motion. It can even integrate with IFTTT, allowing you to receive an email or Slack message if Pigeon’s Dropbox folder changes.

You can find more details on this neat little build here, along with its code on GitHub.
