With Amazon’s new Echo Show now available for pre-order, you will soon be able to interact with Alexa via voice and a 7” touchscreen. Unfortunately, this device won’t ship until June 28th, so if you want this functionality right now, then the only alternative is to build it yourself!

Hacker Kenny Lilly did just that, using an Echo Dot placed next to a frame-mounted laptop monitor. This monitor is set up to display information via the Alexa app running on a Raspberry Pi 3, creating a sort of modular Echo Show-style gadget.
