Want to learn programming and begin experimenting with electronics? The Raspberry Pi is a great way to get started with this noble pursuit, though once you order and receive a Pi, you’ll need wires to hook everything together, switches, LEDs, resistors, and whatever else your application calls for. If only there was an easily-transported device that packs all you need into one unit…

Well now there is, or will be if the CrowPi Kickstarter campaign is successfully funded. Elecrow’s CrowPi looks like a very small suitcase, and opens to reveal a 7” touchscreen, along with buttons, sensors, and lights to get you ready to hack. Different reward levels include a Raspberry Pi Zero or Pi 3 B+, or you can order it without the Pi if you have one (or more) waiting to be used.

The Elecrow team has created a modified image for the system, so once your SD card is installed you won’t have to do any additional configurations. They also include a printed manual to help you get going, which features a series of lessons going over how to use the acessories. It looks like a great setup for introductory programming, and possibly even better for education, given its portable design!
