If you don’t enjoy beer, you can go ahead and skip this article. For the other 95% of you, prepare to get excited! A nice craft beer is about as delicious as beverages get, and you may have even considered getting into the homebrewing scene yourself. But, typical homebrewing setups are expensive and take up a lot of space. That all changes now, thanks to the all-in-one countertop brewing machine BEERMKR.

A standard homebrewing system is big and complicated, with different containers for each step of the brewing process. First, a big pot is used to make and boil the wort. The wart then needs to be chilled — either in a separate container or with an immersed chiller. After that, it’s filtered and moved to a fermentation chamber where it sits for a couple of weeks. Finally, it’s bottled or kegged for drinking. The whole setup can easily take up a small garage or basement, but BEERMKR handles the whole process in a single machine that’s roughly the size of a home photocopier.

That’s possible because BEERMKR is built for low-volume batches of about a 12-pack. To brew up a batch, you just dump the ingredients into the top and set your brewing parameters on the BEERMKR smartphone app. It handles the rest of the process automatically, and in as little as a week your beer is ready to go. You’re even given a little container with a built-in tap, which fits in your refrigerator. A recyclable brew pouch is used for fermentation, which you can toss out. The rest of the pieces can be put in the dishwasher, so there is no time-consuming sanitation procedure to worry about.

The best part is that BEERMKR is a lot more affordable than you’re probably thinking: just $299 for Kickstarter backers. The campaign is running until October 18th, and rewards should ship in March of 2019.
