Inspired by the movie Iron Man, B. Aswinth Raj decided to make his own version of a computer system that could be controlled with the wave of a hand. Though you might think this was a massive undertaking, both the circuit and programs are fairly simple, as described in his write-up, and in the video seen below.
The hand-worn portion of the controller consists of an Arduino Nano, a Bluetooth module, and two Hall effect sensors mounted on a plastic glove. These sensors, along with a magnet on the thumb, act as the left and right mouse buttons. Cursor position corresponds to the user’s hand position, which is tracked by the computer’s webcam via a blue circle mounted in the palm of the glove.
