Hate Cutting the Grass? You’ll Love Lawn Da Vinci!

If you’re a fan of the movie Honey I Shrunk the Kids or perhaps just not doing lawn work, this robotic lawnmower, “Lawn Da Vinci” could be for you. On the other hand, as stated in its writeup, “Robots are dangerous. Lawn mowers are dangerous. Robot lawn mowers are the danger of mowers times the danger of robots.” In other words, make sure you know what you’re doing before attempting something like this.

Danger aside, the Lawn Da Vinci features a traditional remote control vehicle setup, along with an Arduino Pro Mini and a Raspberry Pi. It was modeled in Onshape — which you can examine here — and uses beautifully painted two-inch angle iron for the supporting frame and mobility scooter motors to get around.
