Helios is a modular, touch-sensitive light comprised of hexagon panels that join together to form a variety of patterns. You can swipe where you want or need light, transforming walls into a canvas for illumination using your hand as the brush.

Whether the kitchen, a child’s bedroom or even your office lobby, Helios provides unlimited possibilities for making enchanting and exciting displays. Wherever it is placed, Helios offers a functional and aesthetic diffused light source with a tactile experience. Quickly change the intensity and position of the light to suit the task.

The panels are attached and powered by built-in magnetic contacts allowing them to be rearranged into any shape. Each individual component is turned on and off via an integrated capacitive touch sensor.

Helios Touch is the brainchild of James Vanderpant, conceived during his final year studying product design at the University of Brighton. Intrigued? You can learn more about the project and back it now on Kickstarter.
