Maslow is 4' x 8' CNC machine that will enable anyone to cut large, useful things out of wood and other flat materials — whether that’s a tiny house, a kayak, a piece of art, or some furniture, it’s up to you.

Now on Kickstarter, Maslow is easy-to-use, powerful, and affordable with a price tag under $500. Since designs can be shared digitally, you can build upon the work of others or create your own from scratch.

Maslow is meant to be a machine for everyone. Like any new tool, there are a couple things you will need to learn, but we’ll be there for you in the community forums we’ve set up. You are going to build amazing things.

Maslow uses gear motors with encoders and a closed loop feedback system to achieve high accuracy. In order to get started, you’ll need to acquire two clay bricks, two sheets of plywood, three 10' 2x4s, and a standard wood router if you don’t already have one.

What’s nice is that Maslow only sticks out about 19", which leaves plenty of room to park a car in your garage or walk by in a workspace. It’s also open-source, so all of its code and files can be found online.
