Remember back in the day when you would get home from school to watch Star Trek reruns on your family’s 20” TV, followed perhaps by a session of Super Mario Brothers? Sure, we have bigger TVs today, and shockingly better resolution, but if you miss the curved screens of TVs of yore, or their wood grain exteriors or strange base designs, then Swedish artist Love Hultén has created an emulator that could be perfect.

His new TV set/emulator is available here for a not-so-retro price of $2,799, and features a wooden exterior in a magnificent mid-century modern style. Inside, Raspberry Pi hardware allows it to run retro-gaming software. You can even hook an external video source via HDMI, though no coaxial connection is listed for you to switch between the NES and bunny ears (complete with tin foil of course). The display resolution comes in at 1280x1024, and has speakers built in.

Externally, the enclosure is handmade from mohagany, and includes a beautiful volume knob, along with four long wooden legs to help accent its particular style. The screen is even set up so that its curved on the edges to simulate the subtle sloping of a cathode ray tube. Gaming control is accomplished via up to four Bluetooth controllers, and you can order them in hardwood if you so desire as an add-on!
