MikroElektronika Announces Fusion for TIVA v8 for Wireless Debugging and Programming

MikroElektronika has announced the release of their new Fusion for TIVA v8 development board for the wireless programming and debugging of Texas Instruments’ TIVA, Stellaris, and MSP432 series microcontrollers. The Fusion board is ideal for rapid prototyping, firmware development, remote tech support, proof of concept, and everything engineers might need for project development.

On the hardware end, the Fusion for TIVA v8 development board is equipped with an MCU card socket (for MikroElektronika MCU card), 2X 20-pin TFT display connector, and 16-pin LCD connector for 2x16 characters LCD displays in 4-bit mode (with optional PWM backlight). Connectivity features include Ethernet port, USB, USB-UART, and Wi-Fi (in CODEGRIP programmer/debugger).

As far as expansion is concerned, the Fusion TIVA v8 offers 5X MikroBUS sockets (for Click expansion boards), 20X 2x5-pin headers, and CAN (on the MCU card if available). The board also sports power and reset touch-sensitive buttons and LEDs for the individual I/Os. On the power end, the board can take advantage of multiple power sources, including LiPo/Li-ion batteries, a 12V power supply, and power over USB Type-C connector.

Programming the Fusion TIVA v8 is done via MikroElektronika’s CODEGRIP software suite, which uses an intuitive GUI interface for configuring various options and settings, as well as managing Wi-Fi and debugging tasks. The board also offers a JTAG connector for using an external programmer / debugger if needed. Fusion for TIVA v8 is listed for pre-order for $299 on MikroElektronik’s product page, which gets you the board, MCU card for TI’s TM4C129XNCZAD chip, schematics, MCU/Display board flyers, USB-C cable, and product manual, all packaged in a damage-resistant box. Delivery of the Fusion for TIVA v8 is expected before the end of this month.
