You may or may not recognize the Casio F-91W from its name alone, but if you catch a glimpse of the first part of NODE’s watch mod video, there’s a good chance you’ll remember seeing it on various people’s wrists. In fact, it’s one of the most popular digital watches in the world, and as such, people have come up with all sorts of small tweaks for it.

NODE (or N-O-D-E) is no stranger to new and innovative hacks, and decided to retrofit his own F-91W in a few subtle ways. First of all, he replaced the branding on the top and bottom of the LCD screen with black bands, making a much less complicated letterboxed design. He swapped the standard green led out with a much brighter white LED as well, and even inserted an NFC tag in order to interface with devices such as the tablet shown.

Importantly, he also decided to stick a micro SD card socket on the back, which doesn’t expend the functionality of the watch electronics-wise, but makes for a discreet place to physically store a massive amount of data.

If you’d like one of these “NODE-ed” watches, you can find them on his store (currently sold out), or if you have simply decided you’d like to have/hack one of these yourself, a quick web search should pull various options up for around $10.
