If you’d like to create your own desktop computer from parts, it’s not really that difficult. Sure, you’ll need to spec everything out, but if you know what you’re doing, everything should be able to be stuffed into the case of your choice. Laptops, on the other hand, are a little different since nearly every tiny piece of open space is utilized for components.

If you’d like to make a laptop truly your own, the TERES I — which isn’t for sale just yet — is open source, and the design files are available for download.

Though some parts would be difficult to manufacture yourself in small quantities, you’re free to check out and modify things, and instructions for building one can be found here.

Specs, including an ARM Cortex-A53 and a gig of RAM might not make it a great “gaming” rig, but it will sell for $240 USD, perhaps making it attractive for some applications. Other features consist of an 11.6" LCD screen, 4GB flash storage, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a camera, and 7,000mAh battery.
