As the maker of this miniature laptop puts it, “Ever since the Raspberry Pi came out in 2012, the one thing that seemed blindingly obvious to me was to make a laptop with it.” As you may notice, it is now 2017, and after some work, distractions, and a mishap involving blue smoke, this hacker has finally made a Pi laptop, complete with a speaker and small screen.

The write-up on this model isn’t exactly a tutorial, but should give you the general gist of how to make your own. One part of this build that might be especially useful is the nice little keyboard (7.7” x 4.8”) that fits nicely into everything.

A few other notables from the project include that you should always leave as much space for wiring as possible, and that hinges are hard to find, but can be made out of duct tape if you’re really desperate.
