Last year, Pine64 launched a Kickstarter campaign for the $15 Pine A64 single-board computer powered by the quad-core ARM A53 64-bit CPU at 1.2GHz.

Now, the team has introduced an affordable laptop that uses the same processor, supporting just about any Android or Linux OS that runs on the Pine A64. This laptop, called the Pinebook, will come in two different models: an $89 version with an 11.6" display and a $99 one with a 14" screen.

As first reported by CNX Software, the Pinebook will not be based on the Pine A64 board, nor the upcoming SOPINE A64 module, but instead will be equipped with a custom board.

The lightweight notebook features a full-size keyboard along with a large multi-touch touchpad for students and Makers. What’s more, the Pinebook can connect to a larger external HDMI diplay or TV via its mini HDMI port, while a built-in microSD Card slot enables users to expand their data storage up to 256 GB.

You can learn more about the Pinebook, including all of its specs, on Pine64's page here.
