When working with electronics, having a multimeter handy is usually the absolute minimum you’d need to diagnose problems, but you normally wouldn’t keep one with you at all times. Having an oscilloscope is even better, but they tend to be quite expensive and are normally restricted to bench use due to their size. Pokit, however, can function as both, and as a circular object of less than 2” in diameter, it’s easy to keep handy when you might run into an electrical issue.

What allows this diminutive size is that instead of having its own screen or user interface built-in, it connects wirelessly with your phone or smart device. This means that you’re not restricted to a certain screen size, and you could even cast your screen to a projector for presentation use. Additionally, this lack of a screen would serve to keep production costs down. It’s available on Kickstarter now for just under $60 USD.

If that wasn’t cool enough, the gadget functions as a logger, and can record data for up to 12 months standalone. With its small form factor, it could be placed inside an electrical enclosure, vehicle, or even a robot to track trends over time, and even allows you to check measurements wirelessly while connected.
