Passwords seems to be a necessary evil in today’s world. On the one hand, using your dog’s name for each site you visit is a really bad idea, but memorizing a password/username for every login you need can be quite difficult. You could instead set up a fingerprint-enabled Arduino to do this for you, as Seytonic illustrates in the video seen below.

This device uses an Arduino Pro Micro to power on a PC via a clever arrangement of I/O on the computer’s motherboard, then can apply passwords to different websites depending on which finger you apply to the reader.

According to the clip, the system can store up to 162 fingers, giving plenty of options a single user, or even multiple users if needed. Components for this project can be found here, and code is available via Pastebin.
