If you work in an office, or perhaps have just watched The Office, you know that playing pranks on coworkers is an integral part of getting through the workday. Sure, there are spreadsheets to be tended to, or presentations to generate, but sometimes you just need to get back at a coworker for whatever reason.

Prankster Jon Moore was inspired by the Annoy-a-tron, which makes a beeping noise and can be concealed to annoy people, to build the Annoy-Pi. Based on a Raspberry Pi and a Pibrella, his device not only makes a noise, but pseudo-randomizes the sound, the interval between sound, and the pitch. This makes it very hard to isolate and shut down.

In fact, the victim might not even realize what’s going on, maybe letting Moore ask “innocent” questions about the strange noises in the office! You can find the code for this prank on the project’s GitHub page.
