Tuning isn’t really the most enjoyable part of playing an instrument. For those starting out, this can be difficult, and for those that are more advanced, getting a guitar in tune can waste valuable time that could be spent practicing or performing.

The Roadie 2, now on Kickstarter, accomplishes this task automatically. You simply place the motor-driven device on your guitar’s tuning peg, play the corresponding string, and it takes care of the rest. It can even accomplish this in a noisy environment, and tune other instruments like ukuleles, banjos, mandolis, 12-string guitars, as well as bass guitars with the more powerful Roadie Bass.

You can choose from a number of presets and alternate tunings, or create your own in Roadie’s accompanying app and load them onto the pocket-sized device via Bluetooth. It also includes an OLED screen, a knob interface, a rechargeable battery, as well as haptic feedback to let you know when to move onto the next string.

The Roadie 2 has followed in its predecessor’s footsteps, already surpassing its Kickstarter goal in a matter of hours.
