If your last exposure to the battling robot scene was the first BattleBots TV series from the early aughts, you probably still think of fighting robots as Roombas covered in armor. But, technology has come a long way, and now there are bipedal robots that fight using karate and wrestling moves. If that sounds cool to you — because it undeniably is — then this Kickstarter for Super Anthony is for you.

Super Anthony is a bipedal battle robot that has been engineered for dominance through robust construction and agility. The bot stands at 15 inches tall, and weighs in at 4.6lbs. That puts it in the beetleweight fighting class, which is the second lightest in most competitions. But, that doesn’t mean it isn’t powerful, as it’s built from 15 steel-geared servo motors packing 45 kg-cm of torque each.

Of course, power alone isn’t enough to prevail in the arena — you also need agility. Super Anthony can be operated with either a dedicated BlueTooth controller (like a PlayStation controller), or with an app on your phone. It comes pre-programmed with a variety of fighting moves, including uppercuts, side kicks, and even forward rolls. It’s built to be durable, so you don’t have to worry about it breaking during a battle.

Super Anthony is, however, a bit pricey at $1,299 for super early birds, so don’t think of it as a cheap toy. If you’re serious about battling robots though, this is a good choice. The campaign is running until July 15th, and rewards should ship in November.
