Techbase Releases New ModBerry M2000 Industrial Automation Controller

Techbase has designed a series of industrial control computers based on popular SBCs, including the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ (ModBerry M500), and Aaeon’s Up Board (ModBerry M1000). The Polish company has just released another ModBerry to their lineup with the M2000, which is also built around the UP Board but sports Intel’s Apollo Lake family of processors — either an Intel Celeron N3350 dual-core processor or Pentium N4200 quad-core processor (you have choices).

Beyond your choice of processors, the M2000 industrial automation controller features up to 8Gb of RAM, up to 128Gb of eMMC Flash storage, along with an M.2 SATA socket and SATA connector for additional storage options. Connectivity options include a pair of Gigabit Ethernet ports, up to 12X Serial ports, as well as optional LTE/3G, WiFi, ZigBee, LoRa, GPS, and Bluetooth hardware that can be had through expansion cards.

The ModBerry M2000 also packs a host of additional ports, including HDMI, 3X USB 2.0, and a USB 3.0 OTG. As far as I/O is concerned, the module is equipped with up to 36X DIO, 24X analog inputs, 36X analog outputs, and 12X relay outputs. Enhanced functionality can be had through ModBerry ExCard extension modules — RS-232/RS-485, PCIe, CAN, ADC, and more.

On the software side, the M2000 can utilize Windows 10 Pro/Home/IoT, Microsoft Windows 10 IoT Core, Linux, and Android. It even comes equipped with the dedicated iMod software platform for standard protocol support, such as MQTT, MODBUS, SNMP, M-Bus, and some custom protocols as well.
