While you might think of meat curing that takes place in some sort of dilapidated shack in the wilderness, the curebOS takes an entirely different form: a heavily modified mini fridge controlled by a Raspberry Pi. According to its creator, the automated chamber generates “the finest meats my computer room has to offer.”

Conditions are sensed with a temperature/humidity probe, and the environment is maintained via the refrigerator’s compressor, as well as a circulating fan, ventilating fans, and a humidifier.

In order to keep track of how the meat is curing, there’s a small window to look inside, and stats are shown on a touchscreen above it. If that wasn’t enough, there’s even an Android app that displays the state of the system.

You can see more of the curebOS on Imgur.
