In several of William Gibson’s novels, hackers used portable computers known as “cyberdecks” to connect to cyberspace over a neural connection. Since neural connections don’t — as far as the general public knows — exist yet, Maker/artist “D10d3” decided to create a ‘deck in a style inspired by the books, but able to power an external display. Additionally, this unit has a small built-in slide out display for use when another screen isn’t available.

Physically, the ‘deck is made from a heavily modified Commodore 64C painted red and covered with cyberpunkish stickers. A Raspberry Pi 3 provides processing, and an external battery keeps it portable.
