Perhaps you play guitar and have wanted to use your electronics skills to develop a new effects board. Although it might not be the hardest project you can take on, you might wonder where to start, or be turned off by the fact that you have to integrate a lot of standard components that many people have already taken care of.

If you’d like to jump straight to the creative portion of building an effects board, check out MacroFab’s prototyping platform, now on Crowd Supply. It features two gigantic breadboards with power already available via built-in jumpers, and all of the other typical parts you’ll need for an effects pedal, like a socket for your guitar cable to plug into.

All you have to do to start rocking is follow or modify one of their templates, or even devise something totally unique to yourself. And should you want to professionally manufacture your final FX boards, MacroFab is making it easy to go from design to production by supplying PCB templates.
