Depending on who you ask, you may enjoy music while working/hacking, or you may prefer the sweet sound of silence. In order to allow Hackheim hackerspace members to “collaboratively play music together without any drama or [judgement],” they set up their own custom Raspberry Pi-based Spotify jukebox.

The resulting build consists of a laser-cut wooden case, which houses the Pi along with a HiFiBerry amplifier and a 7" touchscreen for a user interface via the Mopidy music server and Mopify plugin. The system can also be controlled via the hackerspace’s Slack channel if one would rather not leave his or her laptop.

You can find more details on the project in the previous link, including files for laser cutting, and all of its code on GitHub.
