For every full-size vehicle imaginable, you can bet someone has made a miniature Barbie-scale RC version. That’s true for planes, trains, automobiles, motorcycles, helicopters, and so much more. There are even RC snowmobiles you can buy for less money a decent steak. But YouTuber Nikodem Bartnik wanted to design and build his own— and it’s even 3D-printed!

Bartnik decided to model this 3D-printed snowmobile in order to challenge his CAD skills. Seeing as how it’s winter time and Poland gets cold, a snowmobile seemed like a great project to tackle. The vast majority of the parts for this miniature RC snowmobile were 3D-printed, and Bartnik has provided the STL files over on Thingiverse so you can build your own.

The only parts that aren’t 3D-printed are the electronics, fasteners, bearings, and some springs. A motor spins the main drive track, and a small hobby servo is used to steer the skis at the front. Those are both controlled by an off-the-shelf RC receiver, and a 2200mAh LiPo battery powers it all. Bartnik reports that it could use a bit more power, but it seems to perform pretty well overall. At the very least it’s great CAD modeling practice, and the little snowmobile would be perfect for Barbie’s Aspen DreamChateau.
